Main Benefits
Who pays and how much for OSMS?
Employer — 3% of employee's salary (max 25,500 KZT)
Employee / civil contract — 2% of income (max 17,000 KZT)
Sole trader, private practice, farm — 5% of 1.4×MWP (5,950 KZT in 2024)
Self-payer — 5% of 1 MWP (4,250 KZT/month)
State — for 15 privileged categories (11+ million people, ~5,800 KZT each)
Data current for 2024. MWP = 85,000 KZT.
How to get insured status?
Since September 5, 2022, you can pay contributions for 12 future months instead of 12 past months. No need to repay past debt.
Privileged categories insured by the state
- Children under 18
- Non-working pregnant women
- People on parental leave (child up to 3 years)
- Mothers with the 'Altyn alqa', 'Kumis alqa', Mother-Hero awards
- People with disabilities and their caregivers
- Pensioners and WWII veterans
- Full-time students
- Unemployed, social assistance recipients, kandas, prisoners
If you belong to a privileged category but are not insured, submit documents to the authorized body and the state will pay contributions for you.
